Dorothy Pulsifer Studio crafted pottery flagon

A rare and beautifully crafted studio pottery flagon attributed to Dorothy Pulsifer featuring her signature Tenmoku glaze. The vessel is richly finished in a deep glossy black-brown glaze decorated with highly detailed raised motifs which gives this piece a bold sculptural presence. Featuring a medallion front with a handwritten message of  ‘Drink and drinking, you shall see that Kings are fashioned much like thee’ and a sculptural face reminiscent of a Toby Jug.  Along with all the detailing, the twin curved handles and bottom pourer makes this a decorative eye catching addition to any ceramic or studio pottery collection.      34cm High with a base of 18.5 base.
