Vitra Butterfly Stools designed by Sori Yanagi

Originally designed in 1954, this stool is a Japanese design icon that fuses Eastern forms with Western plywood molding techniques. The stool is crafted from molded maple featuring brass fittings to hold the twin seat shells together.

The Butterfly Stool was selected as part of the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York in 1958.
