A vintage Meccano construction set featuring perforated metal strips, plates & girders for building mechanical models. These sets were first created in 1901 by Frank Hornby but the classic red and green colour scheme was originally introduced in 1926. I would estimate that this set is from the 50’s and is well used and stored in a vintage homemade wooden black box.
