Pastel Framed Nude

This beautiful pastel drawing of a nude figure, viewed from the back, with the shoulders, back, hips and legs loosely defined with bold visible pastel strokes rather than precise detail. Warm tones of oranges and reds are used for the skin whilst cool blues outline and shade parts of the body, creating strong contrast emphasizing form and movement.

The background soft orange intensifies the figure’s presence and makes the colours of the body stand out. Simply presented in a black modern  wooden frame with a dark grey almost black mount, this pastel conveys a sense of intimacy and artistic spontaneity typical of pastel figure studies.
